'Moustaches Unlimited’ and Pledges Fire up DDU College Students - 23 September
An enthusiastic crowd of about 200 students and faculty members of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, Delhi University, welcomed the MenEngage team as a special guest at the annual orientation programme of the Women’s Development Cell (WDC). The WDC of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College has been actively working in the college campus on issues of women’s empowerment and equal rights for all. WDC convenor Arpita Bhattacharya pointed out that men have emerged as an important partnering constituency as work on women’s empowerment progresses. She added that of late the discourse around masculinity has become significant in the struggle for a gender equitable society.

Delhi's Young Men Speak Out on Gender Equality - 16 September
The launch in Delhi on September 16 of the 2nd MenEngage Global Symposium 2014 - Men and Boys for Gender Justice! and its processes as well as of the One Billion Rising South Asia 2015 campaign, saw a coming together of youth voices from various segments of the city.
Young men and school-going boys spoke out on their role as champions of gender equality. They said the time had come for change and that they were equal stakeholders in upholding a new model of masculinity.

Kamla Bhasin Leads Students in Demystifying Masculinities and Femininities- 4 September
Students from Hindu College in Delhi University had a hearty laugh and a fun time debunking conventional perceptions of masculinity and femininity and how they were linked to one another. They then dug deeper to examine its connection with instances of gender based violence.
Around 60 students participated in a vibrant panel discussion held on September 4 in the college on the issueDemystifying Masculinities and Femininities, excited to be sharing space with renowned feminists. Panel members comprised Kamla Bhasin, founder of Sangat South Asia and Convener of One Billion Rising South Asia; Satish Singh, Deputy Director, Centre for Health and Social Justice founder member of MenEngage Global and convener of Forum To Engage Men (FEM) India Network; and Karen Gabriel, Professor of English at St Stephens College, Delhi University. Also present on the dais was internationally known dancer Navtej Johar.

Cross-Learning at NGO Round Table with American activist Ben Atherton Zeman- 28 August
There was a cross country and regional sharing of experiences and challenges between gender activists at the highly interactive NGO Round Table discussion held with American activist and artist Ben Atherton-Zeman at The American Centre in New Delhi on August 28 in the afternoon. With the Global Symposium’s community mobilisation having been unleashed in full swing in the form of various engagement programs with a network of stakeholders in Delhi, members from its partner organisations as well as media persons sat down with Ben to share experiences. Each participant organisation talked about the various modes of mobilisation, campaign and advocacy that it had been undertaking in recent times.

'Voices of Men' by Ben Atherton-Zeman takes College Students by Storm - 28 August
Bystander No More – a campaign to engage College and University students in Delhi to the agenda of engaging men and boys for gender justice kicked off successfully with the performance of Voices Of Men, a one act play by American gender activist Ben Atherton-Zeman at Hindu College, Delhi University on 28 August. An exhilarating audience of more than 700 students from various colleges as well as faculty members packed the auditorium, responding to Ben’s every word and gesture. At the end, the youth were more than keen to commit themselves to gender equality by affirming pledges and clamouring to join the MenEngage movement to make a difference.

Sounds of Freedom The Gender Equality chapter- 31 August
The compound of The India Habitat Centre buzzed with activity and roaring excitement as upcoming performers from various theatrics and music clubs across different Colleges and Universities gathered here on 31 August, 3 p.m. to be a part of the first event of this year’s season of “Sounds of Freedom” - a workshop with renowned Sarangi player Suhail Yusuf Khan and Chayan Adhikari from ‘Advaita Band’; Rahul Ram from Indian Ocean; Arvind Gaur, Director of Asmita Theatre Group; Dilip Shankar and Kristen Jain from The Society of Creative Expression. The event was organised by Teamwork in partnership with UN Women and The 2ndMenEngage Global Symposium 2014, the agenda being a holistic approach towards Gender Equality as a universal concern with respect to genders, sexuality, race, caste, class and region. The event began with a play by The Society of Creative Expression followed by a mesmerizing performance by Suhail and Chayan. The students were then addressed by Rahul Ram and Arvind Gaur on technicalities of composing songs, music and skits with a particular focus on how issues of public concern can be incorporated in art.
